History and objectives

University La Salle Bajío has had a presence in the State for more than 50 years and was founded by Dr Manuel de Jesús Álvarez Campos, Brother of the Christian Schools, a man of iron will and an apostolic and visionary educator. His commitment to young people for education inspired him with the project of expanding the educational work of the brothers so that it would respond to the needs of higher education.

Inspired by the Lasallian heritage of faith, fraternity and service, the mission of University La Salle Bajío is the integral formation of people in order to collaborate in the construction of communities and social transformation, for which it is oriented towards a constant search for the truth about nature, man and God.

In Mexico, around 100,000 youth and children receive a Lasallian education in 60 educational centres of all levels. Of these, 15 are higher education Centers, including the University La Salle Bajío.
