The aim of the Stella Chair, of the Compostela Group of Universities, is to promote the internationalisation, mobility and exchange of university teaching and research staff through the annual call for a visiting lecturer position at a partner university.

2025 CALL

In this edition, the Compostela Group of Universities has the special collaboration of CETYS University, which acts as host and support entity for the academic promotion and financing of mobility.

Target group and requirements

Applications may be submitted by teaching and research staff with a stable and current employment relationship with a CGU partner university, who are up to date with their statutory obligations to the network.

Only teaching and research staff with a professional career linked to one or more of the areas of knowledge of the College of Administration of the host institution listed below are eligible for this call:

  • International Business.
  • Business Administration (Management).
  • Social entrepreneurship.
  • Business strategy and competitiveness.

Deadlines
Duration and mobility period

The deadline for sending applications is 5 May 2025 (12:00 PM – noon. Mainland Spain time zone).

The duration of the mobility will be 15 calendar days. Possible additional activities may also be carried out virtually before and/or after the stay in the host entity.

The eligible period for carrying out the mobility will be between July and November 2025 upon agreement of the parties.

Work programme

The specialised staff of the host entity will support the beneficiary of the Stella Chair-CETYS programme in the development of his/her work programme and tasks.

This work programme may include:

  • Teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Participation in conferences and seminars.
  • Carrying out research work.
  • Promotion of inter-university relations.

Places and funding

The Stella Chair-CETYS of the Compostela Group of Universities offers a single placement at the School of Administration of CETYS University (Mexico).

The mobility is funded by CETYS University with 6,000 dollars ($US), including $1,000 gross honorarium for the beneficiary and a maximum of $5,000 in kind for travel, accommodation and living expenses at the destination.

Selection committee and resolution

The selection committee will be composed of two experts in the area of knowledge chosen by each institution, a representative of the host institution and a representative of the CGU.

This committee may ask applicants for an interview or for any documentation or verification of the data provided that it deems necessary for the resolution of this procedure.

The CGU will publish the resolution of the selection process on its website in June 2025. The resolution will contain the details of the beneficiary of the mobility and the substitutes.

The post may also be declared vacant if none of the applicants meet the minimum requirements.

Submission of candidacies

Teaching and research staff must complete the online application form. It must be completed online and in English for the application to be accepted.

In addition, the following documents must be attached to the application:

  • Certificate or official document proving the applicant’s membership of a GCU partner university in the year 2025.
  • Scanned copy of the pages containing data from the national identity card or passport.
  • Work programme including the proposed research and teaching topics, as well as the internationalisation opportunities (projects, links, contacts, etc.) that would be offered to the host university. The maximum length of this document is 500 words, spaces excluded.
  • Certificate or diploma of proficiency in Spanish or English, when these are not the applicant’s mother tongue.
  • Responsible declaration of truthfulness, according to the given model.
  • List of assessable merits according to the terms established in the following article of this call for applications.
