WithArt on the Camino
The Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) launches the project ‘WithArt on the Camino. Fine Arts for the transfer of universal values of the Camino’ to bring the university community of Fine Arts closer to the Camino de Santiago in Galicia and have a unique experience in a natural and inspiring environment for the artistic creation.
This project will be implemented from 23 to 30 September 2021 in Santiago de Compostela, Ferrol and their neighbouring municipalities.
Students and researchers of the Compostela Group of Universities’ partner universities are called to participate in this project.

WithArt on the Camino aims to be a meeting point for the CGU Fine Arts students and researchers in which they can learn in a dynamic, enjoyable and innovative way about the tangible and intangible heritage of the Camino de Santiago.
The combination of academic and cultural activities will allow participants to reflect on and create new artistic works for further educational and cultural use in the university environment and their places of origin.

Dates and venues
The experiential, academic and cultural activities, will take place from 23 September to 30 September 2021, in the cities of Santiago de Compostela, Ferrol and neighbouring municipalities.
Phases and activities
The training activities will take place each morning, while the cultural action activities will be conducted in the afternoon, except on the days that the students walk some of the sections of the Camino; in that case, the scheme would be conversely.
These activities will include sessions of mentoring, guided tours to tangible and intangible cultural heritage, presentations by experts and talks with didactic-academic content and other interactions and social activities.
With the acquired knowledge and gained experience, the students will be asked to develop a creative project of their artistic branch.
Free time will be given to the participants for the organisation of their tasks, interaction and breaks.
All activities will be carried out in working groups.
Submission of applications
The students and researchers interested in taking part in this project must complete by 30 July 2021 an online application form, in which they must upload the following documentation:
– Scanned copy of national identity card or passport.
– Brief curriculum vitae in Europass format.
– Language certification.
– Copy of the university registration or certification of the academic link to a CGU member University during the academic year 2020-2021.
