Legal Notice

This legal notice governs the use of the internet portal service (hereinafter, the “portal”) made available to internet users by the Compostela Group of Universities (hereinafter, the “CGU”), with Tax Identification Number (NIF) G-15520307 and registered office at Casa da Cuncha, rúa da Conga 1, 15704 Santiago de Compostela.

The CGU association is the owner of the portal’s domain and of all elements included within that domain and its associated web subdomains registered under its name through the registrar TECNOCRATICA CENTRO DE DATOS, S.L.

The content of the portal is published solely for informational purposes, pursuant to the principles of publicity and administrative transparency, in accordance with Law 39/2015, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Although the CGU makes every reasonable effort to ensure that the information provided on the portal is accurate, up to date and compliant with the provisions of Organic Law 3/2018, on Personal Data Protection and the Guarantee of Digital Rights, it does not guarantee the absence of errors or outdated information in the different sections of the portal. Therefore, the CGU reserves the right to make changes to the portal without prior notice, in order to keep its information updated, adding, modifying, correcting, removing or deleting published content or the design of the portal or its electronic tools, configuration, or layout. The CGU accepts no liability, including subsidiary liability, for any damages or losses that may arise from fraudulent, unlawful or improper use by third parties of the tools or information contained on the portal, except for those actions resulting from the application of legal provisions to which it must adhere in the strict exercise of its competences.

The CGU assumes no responsibility for the connection to or content of external links, which are beyond its control. Portal users shall in all cases be subject to the specific terms of use governing those links.

This legal notice does not apply to social media, whose responsibility lies with the owner or manager of the social network, the manager of the supporting platform, or the person providing its content.

Intellectual and Industrial Property

The intellectual property rights of this website and its elements are owned by the Compostela Group of Universities, a non-profit association declared of public utility by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior and registered in its National Register of Associations under number 145,292.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the information available on the portal may be reused, authorising its total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and communication strictly for non-commercial purposes, subject to the following conditions:

  • The distortion of the content of the information is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.

  • Users are required to cite the source of the documents being reused.

  • This licence does not reduce or restrict the exclusive rights of the holder of the intellectual property rights, such as the design of the portal, source code, trademarks, trade names, logos or distinctive signs, in accordance with the Intellectual Property Law or any other applicable laws.

Data Protection

Any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or any other form of enabling access, cross-checking or interconnection, restriction, erasure or destruction, constitutes personal data processing.

Portal users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, the right to restriction of processing, and the right to data portability at any time by sending a written request to grupo.compostela@usc.es, subject to the deadlines established by Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on Personal Data Protection and the Guarantee of Digital Rights and by applicable regulations.

Language Use

Given the CGU’s global scope, the content of the portal is published in Spanish and translated into English. Due to its origin, certain content is also provided in Galician.

The language of any procedures carried out with the CGU shall be Spanish. Any documentation submitted in a different language must be translated into Spanish or the corresponding co-official language and, where appropriate, into English.

Should several persons take part in the procedure and a language discrepancy arise, the procedure shall be conducted in Spanish; however, documents or records requested by the interested parties shall be provided in the language chosen by them, with translation into the language of the procedure at their own expense.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

Any dispute or matter related to the portal shall be governed by Spanish law, and the Courts and Tribunals of the city of Santiago de Compostela shall have jurisdiction to resolve all conflicts arising from or related to the use of this portal.
