Senior volunteers on the Camino

The Compostela Group of Universities’ programme Senior volunteers on the Camino fosters knowledge transfer and life experience around the Camino de Santiago and university sphere. This programme is financed by the la Dirección Xeral de Xuventude, Participación e Voluntariado – Direction General of Youth, Participation and Volunteering – of the de la Xunta de Galicia and eight placements are available for 2019 call.

Placements and applications

For 2019 call, eight placements are available for people over 55 years old from Galicia or settled in the region. Besides, when reviewing the applications, their link to the university world will be evaluated to decide on the awarding of the placements.

 

 

Voluntary actions

The voluntary actions of the programme took place on 1-31 October 2019 in Santiago de Compostela. Each volunteer will devote at least three hours a day during this month to their work, depending on their availability.

Coverages

Volunteers will receive five euros per day for local transport and subsistence costs. They will also be covered by civil liability and accident insurance.
