The Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), a member of the Compostela Group of Universities, has achieved international accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET for three of its engineering programs: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering. This distinction positions INTEC as the first and only university in the Dominican Republic with programs accredited by the EAC of ABET, a globally recognized body known for its rigorous evaluation of academic quality.

International Recognition and Global Competitiveness

With this accreditation, INTEC joins a select group of institutions worldwide that meet the highest quality standards in their engineering programs, including prestigious universities such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Yale, and Columbia. This achievement reflects INTEC’s commitment to academic excellence and offers its graduates greater opportunities to compete in the global job market and pursue further education at international universities.

INTEC’s rector, Julio Sánchez Maríñez, noted that “the accreditation of our Engineering programs by ABET, following evaluation by its Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the excellence of our academic programs so they meet the highest international standards, as part of our institutional strategic plan.”
