Maurits van Rooijen

Professor Maurits van Rooijen is since 2012 Group Rector/CEO Academic of Global University Systems, which is the first truly global university system with universities and colleges located from Vancouver to Singapore, online and with a wide range of university partnerships and institutional affiliations.

Amongst other positions, he was previously CEO and Rector Magnificus of Nyenrode University (The Netherlands), Executive Vice‐president of University of Westminster (United Kingdom), Vice‐president international at Leiden University (The Netherlands). He started his academic career at his alma mater Utrecht University (The Netherlands).

Professor van Rooijen is also co‐Chairman of the World Association for Cooperative & Work- Integrated Education (WACE) based in Boston Ma (USA), and Chairman of the Council of garagErasmus, a European project for intra‐European talent mobility and trans‐European entrepreneurship.

He is the former president of the Compostela Group of Universities, were previously served as Treasurer and Member of the Executive Committee.
