The Compostela Group of Universities receives almost 150 applications from students from its member universities for the 2021 call of the Stella Junior mobility programme, which marks record participation in this permanent activity of the network.  

The 2021 call of the Stella Junior mobility programme of the Compostela Group of Universities registered its best participation result ever, with 148 applications received from students from 18 member universities. Since its launch in 2011, the most successful edition so far was the 2019 call, for which 22 applications were submitted for the programme’s grants.

The students who submitted their applications come from 18 Higher Education institutions based in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Serbia and Spain. Specifically from the universities of Masaryk, CETYS, Monterrey, Piura, Adam Mickiewicz, Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Business Academy in Novi Sad, Cadiz, Jaume I, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Technical of Cartagena, Leon, Malaga, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Valencia and Vigo..

The selection committee for the Stella Junior programme

The Stella Junior selection committee for 2021 is chaired by the programme coordinator and Vice-Rector for Institutional Relations and Internationalisation of the University of Seville, Carmen Vargas. Besides, the Dean for International Affairs for CETYS University System, Scott Venezia Corral, and the professor at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the University of Lódz, Tomasz Domański, are part of it.

When reviewing the applications for the call, the members of this committee will take into account the following criteria detailed in the guidelines of this permanent activity of the CGU:

  • Adaptation of the candidate’s curricular profile to the requested offer.
  • The average grade of the student record and the merits at the moment of the presentation of the application will be taken into consideration.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have not received a Stella Junior grant in the last two calls.
  • Priority will be given to international and intercontinental mobility.
  • Fostering geographical and university distribution.

Furthermore, we inform you that due to the large volume of applications received for the 2021 call of the programme, the publication of the resolution of the Selection Committee will be delayed until next week.
