The Compostela Group of Universities invites the heads of its member universities to attend the International Meeting of Rectors ‘University, Territory and Sustainable Tourism’ in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain).

The International Meeting of Rectors ‘University, Territory and Sustainable Tourism’, which will take place from 19 to 20 May 2022, is organised by the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) in collaboration with the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria University and the General Directorate of Tourism Planning and Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The network convenes the representatives of the governing bodies of its member universities for this academic event, whose main objective is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of higher education. Registrations must be made using the electronic form published on the website of the 2022 edition of the CGU’s International Meeting of Rectors. So far, several representatives of the member universities from six countries have already registered and shown interest in participating.

During the two days of the event, attendees will take part in various academic activities that will address issues related to higher education, land-use planning or sustainable tourism. Moreover, on the last day, the solemn act of adhesion to the Declaration of Presidents and Rectors on the ‘Camino de Santiago Between volcanoes’ will be held.

Throughout these days, they will also have the opportunity to get to know the Camino de Santiago entre volcanes, the Castillo de Mata, the Ventana del Nublo and other tourist attractions on the island of Gran Canaria.
