Executive Secretary’s Message
Dear members and friends,
It is an honour for me to put at the service of the Compostela Group of Universities the experience accumulated throughout my academic career in project management and leadership. An experience that has allowed me to sense from the outset the wide potential of this university network and to design new initiatives that contribute to its dynamism.
I am certain that together we will give meaning and strengthen the foundational objectives of the GCU to promote cooperation, mobility and research in Higher Education. But not only that. Its statutes also underline the close bond between this network and the Camino de Santiago, declared the first and greatest European cultural itinerary and world cultural heritage. I firmly believe that the spirit of this pilgrimage route –hospitas, caritas and fraternitas– and the contemporary democratic principles –solidarity, freedom, justice, equality and cultural diversity– are the hallmarks of the Compostela Group and set the direction of all its initiatives and activities.
For all these reasons, the Executive Secretariat would like to send all our member Universities a message of openness and acceptance of new proposals and to offer them the necessary support to make this path of encounter and collaboration that the Compostela Group of Universities wants to become a reality.
Receive an affectionate greeting,
Mª Teresa Carballeira Rivera
Executive Secretary of the Compostela Group of Universities
