The main themes of the event, which will close this afternoon, were local development, citizen participation and the preservation of cultural heritage.
The Executive Secretary of the Compostela Group of Universities, María Teresa Carballeira Rivera, attended yesterday the first day of the II Meeting of Cultural Routes Managers of the Council of Europe in Spain at the Cidade da Cultura. This event, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Spanish government in collaboration with the Regional Government of Galicia, brought together for two days representatives of 18 cultural routes certified by the intergovernmental organisation.
Present at the opening table of the event were Stefano Dominioni, the Executive Secretary of the Council of Europe Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes; Nava Castro, the Director of Tourism of Galicia; and María Agúndez Leria, the Deputy Director General of Management and Coordination of Cultural Assets of the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
The objective of the meeting’s programme of activities was to offer a participatory environment for common work, reflection and exchange of good practices on cultural routes. Specifically, the central topics of this second edition were local development, citizen participation and the preservation of cultural heritage.
