The Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) and Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznan collaborate with the European Access Network (EAN) in the organisation of the 29th EAN Annual Conference ‘Challenges and opportunities by the pandemic’. The event will be held online from 27 to 29 October 2020 and registration is free of charge.
The conference will focus on analysing the challenges and opportunities posed by the pandemic to universities and higher education. To carry out this analysis, the organisers have prepared five panel sessions on topics such as the situation of students, distance teaching and learning, the economic aspects of the pandemic, equity in higher education institutions and online education. These panel sessions will not exceed two hours in duration and will have a moderator, who will provide participants with information and make proposals, inviting them to express their opinions. Besides, the last of the sessions will be prepared by a student organisation from the Netherlands.
Before the conference, five experts selected by the organising committee will lead specialist teams, which will prepare the panel sessions and present the main conclusions of the work carried out in these workshops. The results of the workshops will also be made available to the participants registered for the event.
All sessions of the conference are open, but it is mandatory to register beforehand to take part in the event. Students’ participation is welcome because the pandemic of COVID19 may be the beginning of an entirely new world of higher education and, in this new reality, they will live and work.
Registration for the conference
Those interested in participating in the panel sessions can register via the online form available on the 29th EAN Annual Conference website. There they will be able to select those panel sessions that are of interest to them. Once they have registered, they will receive a reply email providing them with a link to each of the thematic sessions they have selected. Thus, the link will be sent automatically after the successful registration.
Besides, all the registered participants will get the results of the workshops also in their inboxes.
