The Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) has opened the registration period for its XXXI General Assembly, which will take place from 14 to 16 September 2025 in Vila Real, Portugal. The University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) will host this edition of the Group’s annual meeting.

Held under the theme “Navigating the Challenges of Scientific Production”, the assembly will bring together representatives from member and partner institutions, as well as observers, to discuss current challenges in higher education. The programme will include new sessions, such as the Compostela Connection on Sustainability, alongside established ones like the Compostela Dialogues on Higher Education and the Compostela Café, which will focus on the impact of international university rankings.

In addition, the General Council of the CGU will hold its annual meeting, the XXIX International Prize Grupo Compostela–Xunta de Galicia will be awarded, and several cultural activities will be organised, including a visit to the Douro region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Interested participants can complete their registration through the form available on the event webpage, where the preliminary programme —including both academic and cultural activities— as well as travel and accommodation recommendations, can also be consulted.
