El Primer Foro Universitario Internacional: «El Valor de los Derechos Humanos en el Camino de Santiago: aprovechar el poder del turismo para promover el diálogo intercultural y alcanzar los ODS» será un espacio de reflexión sobre los derechos humanos, los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible y el turismo sostenible. Este foro está organizado por la Organización Mundial del Turismo (OMT), el Grupo Compostela de Universidades (CGU) y Helsinki España – Dimensión Humana.

Stages
The pilgrims of the First International University Forum will cover the journey in three stages:
Objectives
- Increment the knowledge and awareness of young people regarding Human Rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through the spirit of the Camino de Santiago.
- Promote the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development in its key areas: inclusive economic growth, employment and poverty reduction, resource efficiency, environmental protection and climate change, cultural values, diversity and heritage, mutual understanding, peace and security.
- Increase the commitment of participating universities to work towards knowledge and application of the SDGs until 2030.
- Foster international cultural exchange, sustainable tourism and solidarity through mutual knowledge and volunteerism, promoting social inclusion, environmental protection and the reduction of poverty and social exclusion.
80 students and 23 professors will participate in the online training and walk the Camino de Santiago. On the 23rd March, 21 recpresentatives of these universities will join them at the First International University Forum to sign the Declaration of Rectors «Caminos de Santiago in favour of Human Rights and SDGs» in Santiago de Compostela.
