The members of the jury of the X International Video Contest of the Compostela Group of Universities award the creations of three students from the universities of Anáhuac Xalapa and Lleida.

The jury of the X International Video Contest of the Compostela Group of Universities resolves to award the first prize to the student of the Anáhuac Xalapa University Oscar Croda. In his video Synthesis, Croda wanted to reflect the times that university students are living through and the changes that these have brought about in their experiences. A time in which they have learned to appreciate the moments they have at their fingertips.

As for the evaluation of his video, the jury members valued the message it sends about the importance of “cherishing every moment” in life and its invitation to reflect on the “difference between the time before the pandemic and the present”. They also stressed that “the generation of young people who produce this message will leave a lesson for posterity” and considered that it approaches the awareness of their contribution, as “they are the generation that decided to move forward and adapt in the face of a global crisis unknown to us all”.

Regarding the second prize of the competition, it was allocated to the University of Lleida students Àlex Formentí Capacete and Jaume Fabregat Farnell. In their video Get ready for It, they address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, projecting them along with the steps taken by society to achieve them and incorporate them into daily life. Thus, the aim of both was to promote awareness and dissemination of the sustainability plan, thereby contributing to the fulfilment of the SDGs.

Concerning this audiovisual work, the jury found that it was a wake-up call to the “viewer on pressing issues of our time, such as a responsible attitude towards the environment, the search for alternative energy sources, health and social equality issues”.
