The representatives of the partner entities involved in the CGU Volunteering with Heritage in Forests GAL programme held their first formal meeting on 28 July. The session served as an initial contact opportunity.
At this meeting, the institutional collaboration agreement was signed within the framework of the BS508E call and procedure, an administrative channel of competitive funding through which the Department of Culture, Language and Youth of the Xunta de Galicia sponsors the CGU project as part of an intergenerational initiative in rural areas linked to the pilot project Intergenerational Talent, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
The meeting, held under the leadership of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) and represented by its Executive Secretary, addressed the current status of the programme, the situation of the participating volunteers, and the joint organisation of the voluntary action activity calendar. The Betula Association, a key stakeholder in the area, will act as a local driving force in Monfero and its surroundings, alongside the other partner organisations: EuroEume, Grupo Naturalista Hábitat, Rural-C and the Monfero City Council.
The aim of this first meeting was to coordinate efforts and lay the foundations for the joint development of the programme in line with the principles and objectives set out in the call.
