I CGU Student workshop on the Camino

The workshop “The Way of Saint James: European Identity and Global Appeal”, organized by Compostela Group of Universities and Universität Regensburg, will take place between 31st July and 5th August 2017 in Regensburg (Germany).

The activity is open to students that completed at least one year of studies at the home institution but learners from member Universities of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) will be given priority. The maximum quorum for the workshop will be at 45 people and applications can be submitted online till the 15th May.

The workshop is formed by two blocks of activities. For the first three days, students will join experts to reflect on the history of St. James’s Way and the importance of the pilgrimage to Santiago for Art, Literature, Religion and European identity. For the last three days, the participants will explore the border between Germany and the Czech Republic, hiking and finding out about St. James’s Way from Prague and from Pilsen both in the Middle Age and today.

Scholarships

A total of 45 scholarships will be available to students who belong to the CGU full member universities. 10 scholarships will be granted to students from Universität Regensburg and 35 for students from other CGU member universities.

The scholarships include participation in the activities, local transport, part of the meals, accommodation and health, liability and accident insurance for the duration of the workshop.
