The University of Santiago de Compostela will host the XXVII General Assembly of the Compostela Group of Universities, which will take place from 13 to 14 September 2021 in the Galician capital, coinciding with the Jacobean Year.
The member of the Executive Committee of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU), Manuel Freire-Garabal, presented to the General Council of the network the proposal of the University of Santiago de Compostela to host the XXVII General Assembly of the CGU from 13 to 14 September 2021. Following this presentation, the highest decision-making body of our university network approved the proposal.
At this meeting, participants will be invited to look back at the roots of higher education, humanities and art. Higher education built on humanist knowledge and preservation of artistic heritage has progressed hand in hand with technical and scientific knowledge. Thus, XXVII General Assembly of the CGU will examine in depth the relations and connections between humanist and scientific-technological education, and art.
Besides, the event will take place within the framework of the Holy Year, Jacobeo 2021, so it will be both a cultural and academic celebration.
