The highest decision-making body of the Compostela Group of Universities, which met online last Monday, voted in favour of the incorporation of four new members to our university network.

The General Council of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) approved the affiliation of four new members to our international university network during the XXVI CGU General Assembly. After evaluating their online presentations, the highest decision-making body agreed on the membership of three higher education institutions as member universities and one of them as an associate member. Thus, the new member universities are Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal), Autónoma de Chihuahua (Mexico) and ESAN (Peru), and the associate member CETT.

The University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), founded in 1979 and located in Vila Real, is an institution of higher education oriented towards the creation, transmission and dissemination of culture, knowledge and science. It is housed in an eco campus that comprises five schools where more than 7,000 students study. In addition, UTAD has one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe.

The Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH) was established in 1954 and is located in the largest state of the Mexican Republic, with a presence in 11 municipalities. The 15 faculties of the UACH, in which more than 25,000 students study, offer various undergraduate and graduate degrees that cover different areas of knowledge and human development.

ESAN University, established in 1963, offers thirteen Master degrees in administration and specialised master degrees and nine professional careers at the undergraduate level. This academic institution currently trains more than 5,000 students who have the opportunity to participate in international exchanges with top-level institutions in more than 70 countries.

CETT is a university centre of Tourism, Hotel Management and Gastronomy, affiliated to the University of Barcelona since 1997. With a career of 50 years, CETT connects people and links the academic field with the business and institutional fabric. More than 2,400 students of 50 nationalities receive training at this centre.
