The Executive Secretariat of the Compostela Group of Universities decides to provisionally freeze its main programmes of activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Executive Secretariat of the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU) resolved today to adopt measures aimed at protecting the teaching and services staff, researchers and students of the member universities of its international network. These measures involve the temporary suspension of several of its main permanent activities, such as the Stella mobility programmes, the International Prize Grupo Compostela-Xunta de Galicia and the video and research pitches contests’.
This decision, which has been the subject of reflection over the last few days, is in line with the commitment of the CGU to act responsibly and follow the indications of the authorities to deal with the current pandemic.
Below, we detail the concrete measures taken concerning the programmes of activities:
1. Stella for Staff. The composition of the Selection Committee will be made public in the following days in CGU’s website, while the publication of the resolution on the grants and mobility will be delayed until the member universities are in a position to reactivate the mobility of their services staff.
2. Stella Junior. The publication of placement offers will be postponed until the member universities can re-evaluate their proposals, once they have re-authorised the mobility of their students. The list of the members of the selection committee will also be published in the coming weeks.
3. Video and research pitches contest. The submission of applications for these contests will be frozen.
4. International Prize Grupo Compostela-Xunta de Galicia. The submission of nominations for the award will be paralysed.
As soon as the member universities can return to their everyday activity, the Compostela Group of Universities will evaluate the modifications to be introduced in the current calls to ensure their effective development.
