The Integrating virtual exchange in the university classroom online course of the Compostela Group of Universities starts today its registration period for the July call.

The Compostela Group of Universities organises the Integrating virtual exchange into the university classroom online course, which will take place from 6 to 9 July 2020, and whose registration period is open until 12 June 2020. During the training, participants will familiarise themselves with this pedagogical activity for engaging students in collaborative and intercultural projects with professors from other countries. Moreover, they will receive a practical guide for their organisation in university education and resources to involve their students in them.

In contrast to previous editions, in which participation was face-to-face, on this occasion the course will take place in an online virtual learning environment. However, the language of teaching and communication will continue to be English, given the international nature of these telecollaboration projects.

Regarding the training programme, in the mornings there will be a compulsory video conference by the trainer, while in the afternoons individual or group work will be carried out. Thus, participation in both activities will require approximately four hours of daily dedication.

This program was developed mainly for university professors, however, due to the potential of virtual exchanges for internationalisation at home strategies, it may also be of interest to researchers and staff from international relations offices. In this regard, it should be recalled that virtual exchanges allow teachers to internationalise their classrooms and students to develop their digital skills in a multicultural environment.

Registration has to be completed through the online form available at the page of the Programme for the Development of Virtual Exchanges VE-COIL . The registration fee is 125 euros and must be paid only when the Executive Secretariat of the CGU confirms to the registered persons that the minimum number of trainees required to form a group has been reached. At that time, they will be informed of the methods of payment, as well as the conditions of cancellation and reimbursement.

This call aims to facilitate professors from member universities the search for partners to jointly develop these telecollaboration projects.
