The Compostela Group of Universities informed the members about the cancellation of the present call for the Stella mobility programmes during the General Council meeting, which took place last Monday online.

The Executive Secretary of the Compostela Group of Universities (GCU), María Teresa Carballeira, and the Coordinator of the Stella for Staff Programme, Slavomir Rudenko, informed the member universities about the decision to cancel definitively the present calls for the Stella mobility programmes, taken by the Executive Committee on Friday 18 September.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the CGU Executive Secretariat opted for the temporary suspension of these programmes, at the time when the publication of the Stella Junior placement offers, and the selection process of the beneficiaries of the Stella for Staff mobility and grants were about to start. Finally, the Executive Committee decided to cancel the 2020 calls for both, after assessing the current evolution of the pandemic and the standing mobility restrictions at various member universities.

Likewise, the members were informed that the CGU would work during the next months on the adaptation of the Stella mobility programmes to offer an alternative that allows to respect the recommendations of the health authorities and to enjoy an international experience at the same time.
