Carina Eriksson received a master degree in Economics, the International Business Programme at Karlstad University (Sweden) in 2002. Alongside her work, she has been studying further in Globalization and Culture as well as Business English Presentation Techniques and more.
She started her work in the International Office of that mentioned university in 2003, initially working with practical matters concerning incoming international students (introduction, housing, social activities and more). She has been involved in administrating European Union projects and external research funding at the Finance Department of the University. Since 2007, she has worked full time with international relations at the University. Her work has involved being a team leader at the international office, promoting and arranging staff exchange, fairs, exchange days, international days for staff and more.
Her responsibility today as the Director of International Relations is to coordinate the university´s international agreements, to work with initiatives supporting the strategic planning for the university but also to contribute to the national strategic agenda for internationalization, to support faculties in their international collaboration, and to ensure international mobility projects for the university and the internal routines. She supports international policies and strategies and works closely to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor with strategic internationalization.
Ms. Eriksson has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Compostela Group of Universities since 2015 and she has a key role in a number of international networks, important to higher education and research for the university and with participants from all continents.
