Camino portugués de Santiago: a cultural heritage for the new Europe International congress

The III Camino Portugués de Santiago: a Cultural Heritage for the New Europe International Congress will take place in Tui (Spain), Valença (Portugal) and Santiago de Compostela (Spain) on 14-16 November 2019.

This academic activity is organised jointly by the Compostela Group of Universities, the Cátedra do Camiño de Santiago e das Peregrinacións of the University of Santiago de Compostela, and the Càtedra d’Estudis Jurídics Locals Màrius Viadel i Martín of the Rovira i Virgili University.

Accommodation and meals

All attendees, with the exception of grant recipients, will be responsible for their own travel and living expenses during the international congress. If free places are available on the organisation’s bus, they will be allocated in the order of registration.

Participation

Participation in the academic activity is open to all those persons interested in the main topics covered: cultural heritage, the Camino the Santiago, the history of the pilgrimage route and its legal implications. Those participants who wish to receive a diploma accrediting their attendance to the international congress may indicate it in the list that the organisers will distribute at the beginning of the activity. It will be necessary to have 80% attendance to receive it.

It is necessary to bear in mind that the main languages in which the presentations and round tables will be conducted will be Spanish, Galician and Portuguese.

 

Grants

The organisation of the III Camino Portugués de Santiago: a cultural heritage for the new Europe International Congress offers 12 grants for accommodation and meals to students and doctoral students who wish to participate in the academic activity. Given that this year the activities will take place in different municipalities, the organisers of the activity have decided to update the guidelines of the call and remove the condition of not residing in any of the towns in which the activities will take place.

The graduate and postgraduate students interested in the call will have until 2 November 2019 to submit their applications and the resolution of the call will be published on 5 November 2019.
