Professor Antonio López Díaz holds a Degree in Law (1986) with an extraordinary degree award by the University of Santiago de Compostela (España), and PhD in Law (1991) by the same university. His training was completed with different research fellowships in the universities of Bologna (Italia), Sao Paulo (Brasil) and Montevideo (Uruguay).
He is the current Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, since June 2018. Previously he served in the mentioned university as Deputy Vice-chancellor for Coordination of the Compostela Campus and Vice-rector of Management of Infrastructures from 1982 to 2002, as Dean of the School of Law from 2005 to 2007, as Head of the Special Public Law Department from 1993 to 1998, and as Secretary of the Commission of Doctoral Studies.
Prof. López Díaz was also a Member of the Galician Court of Auditors (Consello de Contas de Galicia) from 2007 to 2014 and President from June 2007 to September 2010. Likewise, he was a Member of scientific societies such as Spanish Association of Professors of Tax Law, Spanish Association of Fiscal Advisers, Spanish Association of Financial Law, and European Association of Tax Law Professors.
Besides, he is author of numerous monographs and papers related with Tax Law.
